Smash By Jackson & His Computer
Band was their Debut Album, released in 2005, the album consists of a
mash up of electronic music and various tracks have been used for tv
adverts and shows.”Utopia” was used in the O2 bubble campaign ad.
The Album begins with “Utopia” an
eerie sounding song which features glitched female voices, the song
is quite strange but it is interesting to listen to. The song changes
in the middle and the glitched voices disappear leaving angelic choir
voices but it soon returns to its former state. The song is really
vague and empty in a sense so it isn't everyone's cup of tea.”Oh
Boy” is a narrative song which actually is read by his 4 year old
niece. The song is really made dramatic by the accompanying music and
the story is quite intriguing. “Hard Tits” sounds quite dreamy
once again but also is more related to the regular song structure and
sound, it features and old sounding piano, the song remains quite
gentle and easy to listen to. The song falls into a loop at the end
and dies out.”Tropical Metal” includes a piano for the more empty
bits however the songs “chorus” is a lively electronic passage
which livens the song up but gets de-assembled nearing the end.”Radio
Caca” ends the album with a rather disjointed song which sounds
like its trying to escape into a fully functional song which is quite
interesting to listen to as there are many diverse little fragments
of music that sound really nice and they actually sound quite good
together. The song really sums up the album in my opinion as it has a
lot of the ideas and features of the earlier songs.
Smash By Jackson & His Computer
Band Is Ascrono Music's Album of the week because of the way it
challenges the way we listen to music and also because it was a
really interesting listen, it isn't normally what most people would
listen to but it does open peoples eyes to other types and make them
enjoy music a lot more
