Jacko Poli

Jacko Poli is an indie/pop artist who is regularly compared to elbow and fiest. Recently, “The Chords For No Noise” Jacko Poli's debut album, was released and in our article today we will be giving a review of this album.

The Album begins with “Let's Get Lost” A lively guitar intro starts the song and soon the vocals come. One thing you notice almost straight away is how well the singer brings across emotion as you can feel the sadness of the words being sung. “A Deeper Truth” has a much gentler feeling and once again you feel really connected to the lyrics being sung. In “Just For You” the song in general is much more peaceful and relaxed than the previous songs, the including of the piano is a nice touch and the gentle but sophisticated guitar solo is nice to listen to. “The Unseen Man” has a catchy bass intro but it has a much darker feel compared to the past songs. “Violent Mood Swings” has an upbeat intro and the song is strong and complete sounding. “Rain Falls Down” has a very relaxing and almost wistful feel to it, the song is very atmospheric and everything builds up the image very well, you don't see a lot of this style in modern music now so it was a refreshing idea. “Undone” is very defeated sounding, mainly due to the vocals but it is still nice to listen to. “So Long” has very smooth sounding lyrics which make you think, the guitar does a good job in bringing out the lyrics and keeping the tempo lively, personally this was my favourite song. “Silence” is a short, mellow sounding song that is similar to the previous song “So Long” it would have been nicer for it to be longer I felt. “Dance” has an eerie intro but the bass guitar melody is nice and overall it was a good song to end the album with because it sums up the whole feel of the album into one as moves from sadder areas to fast and exciting ones.

Overall this is a good debut album, the vocals and guitars were a joy to listen to. There was a good variation of emotion and styles which were all individually strong. I am looking forward to the next album as there were many positive points to build upon in this one.
